Cook the foods you love — without your home smelling like them for two days.

Plume's articulated arm reaches over the pan, senses what you're cooking, and captures smoke, steam, and aroma at the source. No ductwork. No installation.

Built to keep up with real cooking

Most range hoods are validated against mild, occasional cooking — a quick sauté, the odd fry — and sold as universal. Real cooking is hotter, oilier, and more heavily spiced than that, and it makes a bigger plume than a mild hood was ever built to catch. That's not a fan problem. It's a geometry problem — the intake has never been able to move to where the plume actually is. Plume's arm can.

Who this is for

If you cook hot, oily, heavily spiced food regularly — and your current hood (or lack of one) can't keep up — this is built for your kitchen specifically, not as an afterthought.

Plume plugged into a standard wall outlet next to a stovetop, no ductwork

No ductwork. No permits. Just an outlet.

Plume Dock sits on your counter and plugs into any standard outlet. There's nothing to install, nothing to ask a landlord about, and nothing to undo when you move.

  • Works in apartments, rentals, and dorms — anywhere with an outlet
  • No cutting into walls or cabinets
  • Move it with you when you move

How Plume works

Three things happen automatically, in real time, every time you cook.

1

Reaches

The arm positions itself over the pan — close enough to matter, out of your way while you cook.

2

Senses

It tracks smoke, steam, and aroma as they rise, and adjusts in real time instead of running one fixed speed.

3

Captures

Everything gets pulled through a deep, multi-stage filter built for a heavier load than a standard hood carries.

Questions people ask first

Isn't this just an air purifier?

No. Air purifiers clean the room after the smell has already spread. Plume captures at the source — right over the pan — before it gets into the rest of your home.

Do I need to install anything?

No ductwork, no permits, no landlord conversation. It's a countertop device — plug it in near your stove and it's ready.

Will it work with my stove?

Plume Dock is designed to sit beside any cooktop — gas, electric, or induction — and reach over whichever burner you're using.

How is this actually different from my range hood?

Most hoods are fixed in place and validated against mild, occasional cooking. Plume's arm repositions to follow real cooking — hotter, oilier, more heavily spiced — and filters deep enough to handle it.

When can I actually get one?

Plume is in active development. Check back here for updates as we get closer to launch.
